Reaaaaaaaaaaally random.
I stayed home from work yesterday, and I love staying home from work.
I love the quiet hours, and the TV in the background. I love making a to-do list and ACTUALLY getting things done during those stolen hours.
I'm confused, you guys. I wish wish wish I could expand on this here, but I can't.
Which is PROBABLY why this post is going to be really crazy and disconnected.
I have these dreams, sometimes, where the floor is melting underneath me. I think I looked up the meaning once, and it has to do with feeling overwhelmed or out of control. Duh.
I'm feeling exCEPTIONALLY disorganized lately. Our office has become a storage room - again.
HA!
I've been in the process of repainting one of our bathrooms (pictures to come...eventually) and it's turned into a much longer and much larger project than I anticipated (isn't that always how it goes?). Hopefully I'll get it done before 2012.
We also had a flooring place come over and give us an estimate to get laminate put in on our first floor, and HOLY SHIT - what a ripoff. He told us that our "Retail Price" was $13,000. For laminate. In a VERY small townhouse. Stop it. Right now. But, oh! Don't worry. He discounted us down to $5,400, which is still EXTREMELY high. Frustrating, frustrating.
I need to change my blog-life. I've been debating the switch from blogger to wordpress for a while. Maybe I'll get around to it? Let's add this to my ever-growing to-do list!
What I need to do, REALLY BADLY, is clean out my reader. I'm way behind on my reader (my sincerest apologies to those who I used to comment on, but haven't in a while...I'm getting there), and I want to clean it out - so if you're still here, still checking in on me periodically, leave me note, leave me a link, leave me something, and I'll make sure to bug you back.

OMG SUCK.
Today I created a 1.22mi route on walkjogrun.net and then I joined Daily Mile because I am learning that I am TERRIBLE at being accountable and awesome.
I can't resist the Siren Song of the Reese's Peanut Butter Egg.
And then - I went to start writing my Getting Healthy post, and I lost the draft. So I'm a little irritated.
Besides that! I am wearing pink tights today! And a leopard print shirt. I'm feeling crazy. A lot of things have me feeling crazy this week. So, I'm totally over it. I was going to post a picture of my hot pink tights, but unfortunately I forgot the username for my US Cellular online photo album, so there will be none of that.
Mike and i figured out today that within our nice little neighborhood, we managed to buy a house in the backwoods cul-de-sac. Apparently our neighbors across the street spend ALL DAY sitting in their front yards drinking beers and shooting the shit. We're unsure whether any of them have jobs, or how they afford to keep the house.
Not to mention one of the neighbors has a 3 inch (OR MORE!) handlebar moustache. It looks almost exactly like this:

My day is (thankfully) almost over.
I need to start planning my Kentucky Derby Party. Mike bought me a stamp to start making my invitations.

Nonsense
Today is a stressful day. Nothing in particular - I just want to punch this day in the mouth
I need to relax though, because (like I've said before) Mike and I are winning the lottery next week. Actually, 1 week from today, I will have our corned beef and cabbage in the crockpot and we will hunker down in our living room to hear our winning numbers being read. We're only going to win $1,000,000 - but that's $1,000,000 that we didn't have before. We'll pay off our debts and go on a cruise.
So...that's that.
I was planning to write an elaborate post about internet haters - but like most things in life, I've lost the motivation.
Speaking of motivation...
I'm starting to panic because next Friday (the 19th) is my 1st Getting Healthy post, and I haven't yet gotten healthy. I'm debating starting off with a bang by going to Hot Yoga on Saturday - but I fear I might die. I've been reassured that even if I don't regularly practice yoga I'll be fine, I just need to take it easy.
I think we're going to cancel our gym membership - I mean if I've only used it ONCE since October, then what makes me think I'm going to use it now that the weather is warm?
Lesson learned: going to the gym isn't a practical way for me to integrate fitness into my life.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

A bunch of nonsense
A bunch of random nonsense.
1) I'm going to the library this weekend! I haven't been to a public library in yeeeeeears. I visited the university library when I was at U of I.
I. Am. So. Pumped.
It's also been suggested that I check out some audio books. I'm not sure how I'll do with these. I'm not an audio learner, so I don't think I'll retain the information/story. But I might as well TRY!
2) House Update: Ugh. We had our inspection last night, after being assured in writing that all the utilities were turned on. Well, we arrive and the water is still not on. The water. We've done this song and dance before. The lawyer is pissed. Our realtor is pissed. Everyone's pissed.
On the bright side (yes, there IS a bright side!), everything else is fine. Just normal wear and tear. So, that's a huge sigh of relief. Plus, if the water is broken, or in any way not functional, the bank will fix it because that makes a house unliveable.
3) Thank you guys so much for the kickass comments about a potential haircut. But, I've come to a realization...are you ready?
I've got to suck it up for a little while. I NEED to grow my hair out...just to try it. Otherwise, I'll always be curious and I'll continue with this grow-it-long-then-cut-it-short cycle forever. And that's annoying.
Mike ALSO wants to try longer hair, and his hair grows slowly, so we're going to try to grow our hair together.
AND...if those two things don't work, I've put a ban on extreme haircuts until I weigh within 10lbs of my driver's license weight, or I run an entire 10K. HA. I'll never do that. My hair will grow forever!!
4) Funny story. I love Burger King's breakfast. I love it so much, that for almost an ENTIRE winter, I had it everyday. A Ham Omelet Sandwich and a medium coffee (2 Splendas and 1 cream). It got so bad that the girl who worked the drive-thru in the mornings recognized me. That was my turning point. When the BK employee chats with you about life, then it's got to stop. So I stopped going. It was a struggle, but I overcame.

Well, I went there yesterday, exercised some self control and ONLY got a medium coffee (3 Splendas, 2 cream - because they INCREASED THE SIZE. A medium is HUGE now). But the same drive-thru girl was there, and she recognized me. After I finished hanging my head in shame, she asked me if I was a teacher. And since I was embarrassed and thrown off, and since I'm ridiculously awkward in general, I said yes.
Why? Well, because of all the aforementioned reasons - I was embarrassed and thrown off, and since I'm ridiculously awkward in general. I'm definitely no teacher - though it is my dearest ambition.
I decided this was a sign. The Burger King girl has told me what I already know, I need to be a teacher.
Not the best story, but hey, what can you do?
5) I was driving the other day, reminiscing about my earlier internet days, and I came to this awe-inspiring realization at how much i love the internet.
That's it.
