  1. Have you read Jonathon Strange and Mr. Norrell, by Susanna Clarke? It has nothing to do with Bonfire Night, but I've been meaning to ask you. It's sort of like a Harry Potter for adults. Magicians and faeries and all that. And it has a god awful cover and it's ridiculously long (1000 pages) and has made-up historic footnotes that are pages long and I didn't think I'd like it at all but my boyfriend made me read it and it was WONDERFUL. I think you'd adore it, I have a feeling...

  4. "the gun powder treason and plot.
    I know of no reason
    that the gunpowder treason
    should ever be forgot."

You get extra "Hi, I'm totally awesome" points for referencing this today. :)

Also, for those who don't know:

One of the greatest films ever!

  5. Yay!! I'm always happy to see Guy Fawkes references - I lived in England for the first 14 years of my life so naturally every November 5th was a huge celebration of fireworks, toffee apples and bonfires. Since moving to Canada, I still go celebrate - in my dad's back garden, with cheap little fireworks that go about 2 feet off the ground, but still full of fun, sparkles and hot chocolate :)
